The economy does not revolve around itself, but around the creation of wealth.

And that is where the shoe pinches. Working simply does not pay enough in our country. The difference between receiving a benefit and going to work for a wage is not so big for some people. 

According to Stijn Baert, our labour market can be compared to an iceberg, with a large group of inactive people below the water line. Belgium scores a lot less well in this respect than other countries. Yet there are simple solutions to activate this group and thus to get more vacancies filled.
